Steam link struggling to decode3/11/2024 I really want to use this device but I am highly sensitive to frame rate inconsistency (I blame my job). This happens frequently with Doom 2016, and most recently I saw it with Half-Life 2.ĪNY advice is greatly appreciated. Client: Steam Link public 456 Network: Fully Wired (0 loss from this) Client Options: fast, Hardware Encoding enabled, 720p forced resolution in both steam/steam link I have a 'slow decode and sometimes convert' warning, every time i start my link (then it quickly dissapears). My hardware should be more than up to the task. I've basically tried everything under the sun, and nothing is working. I've tried having both monitors off while streaming. I've tried disabling my secondary monitor. I've tried changing my 144 Hz monitor to 60 Hz. I've tried several different Nvidia drivers. I've tried lowering the decoder settings all the way down to fast. steam with the immense popularity of Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark. I have tried software and hardware settings. I have witnessed this in every game I've played recently, from demanding games like Hitman and Witcher 3, to not-so-demanding games like Half-Life 2. To my eye, it appears as though frames are being duplicated, but I could be wrong. Sometimes the game will go 30 seconds completely smooth, and then a patch of judder will pop up. Most annoying issue is judder, evident when spinning an in-game camera. I'm having several issue with my Steam Link, which I've owned for several months.ġx 144 Hz Gsync monitor, and 1x 60 Hz normal monitor, both 1920x1080Īsus RT-AC66U router (Steam Link and PC are wired to it) Looking for content - send us a mod mail if you have something that should be added.Posted this in the Steam forum and figured I might as well post it here, since I'm sort of at my wit's end with this device.(You can also email with a follow up or more detail) Samsung SmartThings hub support (using a dongle) is coming.
